Greenway Estate is located within Rushborough's Controlled Parking Zone F, but the estate itself does not currently have formal parking controls. Residents have reported ongoing issues with non-resident vehicles parking on the estate, obstructed access for emergency vehicles, and a lack of available spaces for residents, particularly in the evenings and at weekends.

 

Following requests from residents and the local ward councillors, the Council carried out parking surveys in June and July 2024 which confirmed that parking occupancy on the estate regularly exceeds 90% during peak times, with a significant proportion of vehicles belonging to non-residents.

 

We consulted residents and nearby businesses on a proposal to introduce permit-controlled parking on Greenway Estate, operating Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6.30pm. Residents would be eligible for up to two permits per household at no cost in the first year.

 

The consultation closed on 21 October 2024. A summary of responses and the Council's decision is set out below.
